Three-Vehicle Accident Ends With Taxi Passenger Dead and Two Others Injured

Friday evening police and paramedic’s responded to a hit-and-run accident that left one person dead and two others injured.  That accident occurred in San Bernardino around 10:00 p.m. when a Ford Crown Victoria taxi stopped at a red light at the intersection of Del Rosa Avenue and Highland Avenue was suddenly rear-ended by a Chevrolet Suburban traveling at high rate of speed.

The impact forced the two vehicles into to the intersection where they collided with a Honda Civic. San Bernardino authorities identified the driver of the Honda as 25-year-old Gloria Alva. She sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the accident.  Police stated that a male and female occupying the Suburban fled the scene of the accident and now remain at large.

The driver of the taxi was transported to St. Bernardine Medical Center for moderate injuries, he was identified as 56-year-old David Zuniga. Unfortunately, his passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  Police Identified the man as 41-year-old Cesar Figueroa of San Bernardino.
